Give Claude a permanent memory
Claude starts every conversation from nothing. Engram stores what you discuss — verbatim, not summarized — and lets Claude search it by meaning in any later chat.

Engram server URL
https://mcp.getengram.app/mcpClaude authenticates with Engram over OAuth, so this URL is the only thing you paste — no API key, no config file.
Open your connector settings
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors and choose “Add custom connector”. Available on Claude Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise.
Paste the Engram server URL
That is the only thing you need to copy. There is no API key and nothing to configure.
Sign in and authorize
Claude opens an Engram sign-in. Approve it once and the connection persists — a free account is created if you do not have one.
Tell Claude what to keep
Connecting does not save anything on its own. Say “remember this” for a single exchange, or “remember everything from this point forward” once and Claude keeps saving the substantive turns for the rest of the conversation.
Using Claude in the terminal instead? Claude Code installs as a plugin. Also in ChatGPT? Same memory there too.
Saying it once is enough
A connector gives Claude the ability to save. It does not decide what is worth saving — you do. There are two ways to say it, and the second is the one most people want.
“remember this”
Saves the exchange you just had. Good for the one decision in an hour of conversation that you know you will want later.
“remember everything from this point forward”
Say it once and Claude keeps saving the substantive turns for the rest of the conversation. You stop having to decide in advance which part of a conversation will matter — which is usually the part nobody can predict.
Claude skips the trivia either way — greetings and acknowledgements are not worth storing, and it knows that. If you want a specific thing kept out, you can exclude it, down to a single message.
